Bundle together in a paper bag or tie together with string. Place in appropriate container at Transfer Station. newspapers, magazines, catalogues, junk mail, boxboard ex. cereal boxes, pasta boxes, shoe boxes, school/office paper, printer/copier paper, paper egg cartons paperback books, tissues, towels, soiled paper, waxed paper, wrapping paper, notebook spiral binders
Cardboard Remove all packaging material, plastic windows and inner bags. Flatten. Bundle together with string. Place in appropriate container at Transfer Station. corrugated cardboard (has wavy inner liner)

Wash out containers. Lids and labels are acceptable. Place in appropriate container at Transfer Station. clean bottles & jars, clean metal & aluminum cans, clean aluminum food trays, clean aluminum foil, milk & juice cartons, HDPE 2 plastic (examples: plastic milk jugs, bleach bottles, laundry detergent bottles), PETE 1 plastic (examples: soda bottles, clean peanut butter jars, mustard containers) plastic containers marked 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, plastic motor oil containers, mirrors, plate glass windows, light bulbs, aerosol cans, broken glass, flower pots, plastic toys, ceramic cups-plates and glasses
Lead Acid Batteries Place in battery recycling area. Place in battery recycling area. household batteries
Rechargeable Batteries

Place in container at Transfer Station. spent rechargeable batteries (look for "rechargeable" or "nickel cadmium" on the battery) alkaline batteries, lead/acid batteries, carbon zinc batteries
Motor Oil Pour into the oil containers at the Transfer Station. used oil from internal combustion engines none
Antifreeze Place in the antifreeze drum. used antifreeze none
Tires Place in tire recycling area. car tires, bicycle tires tractor tires
Scrap Metal Bring to Transfer Station and ask attendant where to place. Aerosol cans, paint cans and gas cylinders must be EMPTY! EMPTY paint cans, EMPTY aerosol cans, EMPTY gas cylinders, iron piping, motors, stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers metal attached to non-metal (example: sofa bed), containers with contents
Bulky Waste Place in container at Transfer Station. building debris, furniture, demolition material none
Used Clothing Place in Salvation Army container. used clean clothing in good repair rags, dirty clothing, clothing needing repair
Telephone Books Place in SNET container at Transfer Station (look for container in Spring). telephone books none
Yard Waste Place in container at Transfer Station. leaves, brush (under 2" diameter), grass clippings none
