Burnt Hill Park Cross Country Race 3 mile & 1.5 mile

The Hebron Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their 5th Annual Family Cross Country Run at Burnt Hill Park. The race course will take you along the trails throughout the park, around multipurpose fields, through the trails, and by the pavilion. Registration will begin at 9:00am outside the Parks and Recreation department office. If you would like to participate in both races there is no additional fee however you will only be able to receive one award. T-Shirts will be handed out to all racers.

Date:  Saturday, October 10th, 2015

Location:  Burnt Hill Park

Time:   3 mile race starts at 10:00am         

            1.5 mile race starts at 11:00am     

Fee:  $8.00


Hebron’s Halloween Happenings

Trunk or Treat

Calling all Hebron residents, businesses and community groups! The Hebron Parks and Recreation Department is looking for individuals and groups to participate in the 4th annual Trunk or Treat event. Trunk or Treat is a spook-tacular Halloween event that provides a safe and fun way to celebrate Halloween with the whole family. Children will enjoy going from trunk to trunk to receive pre-packaged candy from costumed car owners. All cars are welcome. The spooky evening event includes trick-or-treating, entertainment and much more!

Date: Saturday, October 24th with a rain date of Sunday, October 25th, 2015

Location: Hebron Lions fair Grounds, Route 85 (in the parking lot)

Time: 5:30pm-7pm

Cost: Free to all


Haunted Happenings

Come check out Halloween Happenings at the Hebron Lions Fairground, in collaboration with RHAM Middle School Drama Department. Haunted Happenings will have scares, laughs, and mores. Participants will be able to play Halloween games, walk through the Trail of Terror, hop on a hay ride for Halloween family fun, and remember the night by taking photos in our photobooth! The entrance will be through Gate 4 at the Fairgrounds. Don’t forget to wear your favorite Halloween attire. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, feel free to contact the Parks and Recreation department.

*Please note that the last hayride/walk through is at 8:45pm*

Date: Saturday, October 24th with a rain date of Sunday, October 25th, 2015

Location: Hebron Lions Fairgrounds, Rt. 85

Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Cost: Free to all 


13th Annual Airline Trail Ghost Run

The Parks & Recreation Departments of Hebron, Colchester, East Hampton and Marlborough are collaborating along with the State of CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to host our 13th Annual Ghost Run. Total distance of the race is 13.1 miles. The first 375 registered runners will receive a long sleeved t-shirt. If interested in volunteering for this event or if you need more information, feel free to contact any of the Parks & Rec offices; Hebron 860-530-1281, Colchester 860-537-7297 and East Hampton 860-267-7300.

Location: Starts at Hebron Elementary School

                 Ends at Center Elementary School in East Hampton.

Time:      9:00 am (rain or shine)

Cost:   Individual:     $32.00 (after October 21, $37.00)

            Relay Teams: $54.00 (after October 21, $59.00)

Travel Basketball  Evaluations 2015-2016 can be found to the left under "Sports Programs"

Only Hebron Residents may try out for Travel Teams. If your child makes a travel team, there will be an additional fee. Travel team players are not permitted to play recreational basketball. Players are only required to attend one night of evaluations, however, they may attend more. If players do not make a travel team, they will be placed on a recreational team.
